Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016 where she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The track Sweat it is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. In the following season, the music circulated throughout Dreamville. On December 8 it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she joined by EarthGang. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed followed by a video in September. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February of 2019, the music video for this song was released. The song has received more than three million YouTube views in just one week. In December 2018 she was a supporting act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
